Juliana Venter is originally from South-Africa, where through her work in The Mud Ensemble in the nineties she still enjoys cult status as one of the pioneers in avant-garde music in the country. She has lived in Europe for many years, and is a groundbreaking vocal artist who is one of the few who has a strong personal expression in classical and experimental music, folk music from around the world and jazz. In Norway, she has i.a. worked with KORK, POING and De Utvalgte. Venter has now established herself here in Norway, and has made a name for herself as a composer, actress (her latest film has been selected for last year's Cannes) and musician.
