Ásta Fanney Sigurðardóttir is a poet, performer, artist and musician who lives in Reykjavík. Her works are often a combination of different mediums from films to experimental operas where she focuses on the innovative aspect of language. She graduated from the Academy of Arts in Iceland and is the founder of the experimental poetry and art Festival Suttungur in Iceland and was one of the founders of Kunstschlager art project space & gallery.
She has exhibited art and performed in poetry and music festivals around the world. Her most recent books are Eilífðarnón, Gluggi – Draumskrá and SERÍA FORMA which include bending the structure of language, records of dreams and surreal imagery. Ásta was nominated for the Bernard Heidsieck Literary Prize in Pompidou last year and received the Ljóðstafur poetry award in 2O17.
